“18 I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall add unto them, God shall add unto him the plagues which are written in this book:19 and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree of life, and out of the holy city, which are written in this book.”
Out of the 104 places that the Old Testament uses the word “rock” 30 are referring directly to God. In 1609 the Catholic Douay Rheims Bible replaced or removed 30 “rocks”, all or which have direct references to God. The 1970 Catholic New American Bible put back all the altered “rocks” from the Douay Rheims, but they also added another “rock” in the New Testament. Peter’s name when translated back to the original Greek is “petros”, which is a small stone. There are 156 places in the New Testament Scriptures where it is exactly that way, but not so in the 1970 New American Catholic Bible. They correctly translated “petros”, meaning ‘Peter’ a small stone, a whopping 155 out of the 156 times! The only place where they changed the translation is in Matthew 16:18 which correctly reads: “18 And I also say unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” This verse which reads “thou art Peter” in all Bible versions prior to and after the 1970 Catholic New American Bible, is translated correctly except in the 1970 New American Catholic Bible, where it reads “thou art ‘Rock'”! Amazingly, this incorrect translation (revised in 1986) is improperly used in Catholic churches across the United States; instead of the corrected 1986 revised edition, which reads “thou art Peter”.
Bernard Maddoff was trusted by many with their hard earned money, and lost it all! The Roman Catholic Church is trusted worldwide by a billion plus people with their souls. If left unchecked, could it pull off the greatest spiritual heist of all time, and would you be willing to risk your own soul?
